My newest obsession/new toy, the DIANA mini. Welp, here’s to experimenting. (With photography, I mean. What were you thinking?)

I’m leaving for an adventure out west. What better time than now to make playlists for my 2nd annual California trip?

While I could rant about my no good rainy day in this blog post, I will choose to instead dedicate it to 2 things that inspired me today. The first, is this cover of one of my favorite Fleet Foxes songs, by 2 scrumptous Swede tweens! This fair-haired duo, called First Aid Kit, has become more and more successful since the posting of this video, and they are currently touring the world! Let their voices woo you into submission!

The second is this poem that I stumbled upon recently. It just so happens this exact poem is one I saw on the London Underground, as a part of Science Poems on the London Underground. It struck me to find such beautiful words in the place of a common subway advertisement. They act as food for thought during a Londoner’s daily trudge home.

If I could, I would tape this beautiful poster to the inside of my eyelids. What a simple, yet powerful message!

ADDENDUM: I think I might have found a more inspirational poster. You be the judge.

Carl Sagan quote

One of my forms of academic procrastination lies in a series of oral lectures from a batch of eclectic and various scholars from every inch of the globe; Ted Talks is an annual forum that features speeches and lectures, ranging from Malcolm Gladwell to Eva Vertes. I was turned onto Ted about a year ago, and since then, my mind has been expanded and my soul inspired by each individual’s story.

Today that inspiration comes from Mallika Sarabhai, a self described dancer, actor, and activist, who has become one of the most influential females in India. After stumbling upon her 16 minute lecture regarding social justice, I am moved by her work for community outreach, and inspired that she emphasizes the importance of the arts as a medium for social responsibility.

“To the planners, the governments, the strategists, you have treated the arts as the cherry on the cake, it needs to be the yeast.” -Mallika Sarabhai, (13:30)

Let’s just say, this woman may have just showed me a new career path…
